ALBERT, Mlle d'] - Confidences d'une jolie femme. Franckfort - Lot 625
ALBERT, Mlle d'] - Confidences d'une jolie femme. Franckfort and Leipzig, Jean George Esslinger, 1775. 4 parts in one vol. in-12, (2) ff, 236 pp, (2) ff, 228 pp, yellowed paper, purple half-marble, ornate spine. MMF 75.11. GAY I, 663. DRUJON, pp. 222-223. As Miss de Rohan's lady-in-waiting at Panthemont, she was able to observe life in town and at court, and to compose this novel, in which several important characters and fairly recent events, poorly disguised and ridiculed, were recognized. The work was seized, and every last copy was bought back. Mlle d'Albert was imprisoned in the Bastille, where she was released thanks to the credit of Mlle de Rohan.
