Marie Dumas, La cage et les amours France, circa 1890 Folded fan, the sheet in fine needlepoint lace depicting scrolling roses and foliage framing a cartel painted on silk. Two lovers guide a bird to the cage held by a butterfly-winged nymph. Signed on the left "M. Dumas" for the painter Marie Dumas. The reverse is mute. Entirely mounted in blond tortoiseshell. Brace and tassel of passementerie. H.t. 33 cm-H.f. 20.7 cm (cuts, wear)
