Le Passage du gué, France, circa 1820 Folded fan, the paper leaf engraved with a gallant scene in the medieval style, under the gaze of Love. The reverse shows a man helping a woman cross a ford. Bears the name of the Parisian engraver "Bosselman ND 151", also a miniaturist for the Sèvres porcelain factory. Scale-like horn mounting, inlaid with sequins on the face. Height 21.5 cm (incomplete - missing a fold, cuts, wear)
