COCTEAU Jean [Maisons-Laffitte, 1889 - Milly-la-Forêt, 1963] - Lot 119
COCTEAU Jean [Maisons-Laffitte, 1889 - Milly-la-Forêt, 1963], French poet and writer. Autograph letter signed, addressed to M. Paysan André. St Jean-Cap-Ferrat, January 23, 1958; 1 page in-8°. Friendly letter. "Dear André, if the dreadful racket that goes on around me every day hasn't reached your eyes and ears. It's because I still have a chance to live in the shadows where my work has flourished for thirty years. I'm happy to learn that you haven't forgotten the other who took the wrong road but found faithful hearts along the way." Attached / an important set of letters from Max Eddy, screenwriter, addressed to M. Paysan concerning royalties for "Valses de Vienne".
