General, governor of the Invalides, arrested on August 10, he escaped the September massacres thanks to the courage of his daughter; arrested again, he was guillotined. Autograph letter signed. Lille, February 13, 1783; 1 page in-8°. He explains that he went to the hospital to see the young protégé of the letter's addressee. The surgeon does not despair of his recovery.
