Versailles, July 21 [1688]; 1 1/4 pages in-8°. Bossuet agrees to the mission requested by the abbess. "As for similar letters you will not receive prompt replies, you can consider the matter done. Mlle de Mauléon, who is in the country, let me know that she had sent you the Variations, without which I would have proved it...". ( this is his book on Protestantism: Histoires des variations, published in 1688). Small tear, no missing words.
