Autograph letter signed, addressed to the Archchancellor of the Empire. Warsaw, January 9, 1807. 1 page in-4°.
"I gratefully receive the expression of your wishes for my happiness and glory. Your A. S. is in turn well aware of my attachment to him. I regret among the parties and noisy pleasures of the capital, a soldier who cherishes his Emperor and his country, is easily made to all kinds of sacrifices; there are however, which cost much to bear; of this number, is the estrangement .beloved wife, and my happiness, I confess, will be perfect only when I can see again the object that unites all my affections."
