LAENNEC René [Quimper, 1781 - manoir de Ploaré, 1826], Frenc - Lot 125
LAENNEC René [Quimper, 1781 - manoir de Ploaré, 1826], French physician. Autograph letter signed, addressed to his mother. Paris, May 4, 1806; 1 1/2 pages in-8°. He gives her news despite a very busy schedule. "Even today, if I were only consulting my occupations, I might not be writing to you [...] Paris has been deader for three months than I have ever seen it. The May festivities have been postponed for six weeks, and I don't think anyone is angry about that, because we've seen so many festivities here that everyone, I think, must be tired of them."
