SAMBAT Jean-Baptiste [, 1760 -, 1827], miniature painter, ac - Lot 85
SAMBAT Jean-Baptiste [, 1760 -, 1827], miniature painter, active Jacobin, juror of the Revolutionary Court. Autograph letter signed. Lundy [1793] to Fabre d'Eglantine; 2 pages in-8°, hole from opening of seal (no missing text). "I went to Coindre's, then I went to fetch you at the Convention. There I waited until after three o'clock. Doubtless the importance of the discussion prevented you from going out as you had promised, I suspect, for I heard Danton's voice in the middle of the Sabbath." He arranges to meet him "at the Café du Jardin des Feuilletants", unless he prefers the meeting to take place at his home.
