HÉBERT Jacques-René [, 1755 -, 1794], the violent pamphleteer of Père Duchêne, substitute prosecutor for the Paris Commune, arrested with his followers and guillotined. Printed by J.R. Hébert, author of Père Duchesne à Camille Desmoulins et compagnie. Imprimerie de la rue Neuve de l'Egalité; 12 pages in-8°. Violent polemic in response to Camille Desmoulins' accusations in Le vieux cordelier. "By damning me with a torrent of insults and slander, Camille and his henchmen thought they could silence me, and prevent me from revealing their perfidious machinations, I am all the more courageous to fight and confound them".
