Important set of 22 Cantal newspapers, mostly autographed by Jean-Baptiste Lakairie. Dated from Year VII of the Republican calendar to 1818 (missing 1805).
The diaries are very detailed and well kept in terms of dates and information. There are notes on his meetings, copies of correspondence received, news and movements of the prefect and mayor, news of the constitutional police, etc. He transcribes all the departmental news he can get his hands on.
Some newspapers are accompanied by printed matter. These include "recueil des actes administratifs de la préfecture du Cantal", extracts from registers...
