"I receive from a waiter at the Hotel Excelsior, your dispatch and I have the double pleasure of learning that I have the Nobel Prize and of learning it from you."
- Stockholm, December 12, 1906; 2 pages in-8° on "Grand Hotel de Stockholm" headed paper, envelope enclosed. In it, he describes
of his Nobel Prize: "Everything has gone well so far: parties, receptions, dinners".

Lebeau to replace him, then gives a list of subjects to be covered.
