LAENNEC René [Quimper, 1781 - manoir de Ploaré, 1826], Frenc - Lot 296
LAENNEC René [Quimper, 1781 - manoir de Ploaré, 1826], French physician. Autograph letter signed to his mother-in-law. Paris, November 19, 1806; 2 pages in-4, subscription to the address Madame Laennec in Quimper. As a young doctor, Laennec gives a long-distance consultation "to his dear mother". "The various inconveniences you have experienced are in no way dangerous. They will have no and I hope they will soon give way to the medicines and diet I am about to indicate to you. you. I will put my consultation on a separate sheet of paper, which you will find enclosed. From this way, you will be able to carry it out without being obliged to communicate my letter to the apothecary". He then discusses a matter concerning his father, which he and his brother Michaud will be handling, and joint relations between Mme Laubrière and M. Gouiffès, from Rosporde, family. Laennec received news of Mme Laennec's brother, whose position seems to be better: "his wife is in Holland with a very rich lady lady of whom she is lady-in-waiting. Her son has doubled his pension". After the death of his first wife and the mother of his three children, Théophile-Marie Laennec remarried in 1795 to Geneviève Urvoy de Saint-Bédan, his eldest son, René, then aged 14.
