MONET Claude [Paris, 1840 - Giverny, 1926], French painter. - Lot 129
MONET Claude [Paris, 1840 - Giverny, 1926], French painter. Autograph letter signed, addressed to Bonnard. Giverny, January 31, 1926; 2 pages in-8° headed Giverny by Vernon. Eure. Beautiful, friendly letter wishing the painter Bonnard well. "I've heard that we have the whole month of January to give thanks for New Year's greetings. It is only time to thank you for your letter and your good wishes, and I am happy to say that your letters at any date are always pleasant to me. Happy mortal you live in the sun. That's life. Here we've just had floods, snow and ice. It's beautiful too, but it's hard on old eyes. But it's all right. I still want to worry about it, but I must be wrong.
