DENIS Maurice [Granville, 1870 - Saint-Germain-en-Laye, 1943 - Lot 106
DENIS Maurice [Granville, 1870 - Saint-Germain-en-Laye, 1943], French painter and decorator.
Set of two signed autograph letters.
- LAS addressed to Gabriel Thomas, Silencio Perros-Guirec, August 16; 1 page in-8°. Letter of thanks for the "Gâteries" (treats)
sent for Domi's birthday (Dominique Fils de Maurice Denis). "Your treats arrived on Domi's birthday, which was celebrated as usual. I wanted him to write back to you. I think you wrote him a very touching letter, as he seemed quite moved. He doesn't have much time left for Latin, although he's not completely hopeless at it. What a boy! I can't quite understand him.
- Autograph postcard signed, addressed to M. Gabriel Thomas. Châteauneuf-du-Faou, September 18 [1925]; 1 page in-12.
"We've gone ahead with our planned trip, starting with a visit to Sérusier. Domi ran, although the
[ ] fishermen didn't want to sign him up because his driver is too fast! In fact, he arrived 3 minutes before the 1st in his category. We also had a visit from some very nice friends of yours, the Trémois".
