PAGNOL Marcel [Aubagne, 1895 - Paris, 1974], French writer a - Lot 65
PAGNOL Marcel [Aubagne, 1895 - Paris, 1974], French writer and film director. Autograph letter signed. Paris, Saturday; 2 folio pages with Marcel Pagnol's letterhead on the left. Letter of thanks and discussion of the four-thirds theory. "I am sending you a text of Marius, and you will find the theory of four thirds on the page. It has already had the honor of being applied by the tax authorities a few years ago, when they imposed a fourth provisional third on us. I wouldn't be surprised if it were to feature one day in the theory of imaginary numbers... It's not in the first editions of Marius. I only added it after the play's premiere.
