CAMUS Albert [Mondovi, Algeria, 1913 - near Villeblevin, 196 - Lot 8
CAMUS Albert [Mondovi, Algeria, 1913 - near Villeblevin, 1960], French writer. Typed letter signed, addressed to Mr. Bieber of Connecticut College, New London. Paris, May 28, 1954, 1 1/2 pages in-8°. On Librairie Gallimard letterhead. Letter of apology for the delay in his mail, as one of his relatives was very ill. He has recently returned to work. "Today things have settled down a little and I'm gradually getting back to my work. I'd like to say yes to your request for a preface letter, but I'm a bit anxious about the amount of back work that's accumulated. That leaves the Elmer Davis book. In my opinion, for reasons that would take too long to enumerate, it has little chance of being published by Éditions Gallimard.
