S. l., c. 1800. 20 quires in four in-8 slipcases, laid paper, each quire 3 to 6 ff., fine English handwriting, qqs. figures mostly of skull and crossbones, quires placed in slipcases in groups of five. Set of rituals for the grades belonging to the four Orders of Wisdom of the French Rite (Elu, Ecossais, Chevalier de l'Orient, Rose Croix). They had been adopted by the Grand Chapitre Général de France from 1784 to 1786. It was published in Paris in 1785 by Guillemain de Saint-Victor: ''Recueil précieux de la maçonnerie adonhiramite, contenant les trois Points de la Maçonnerie Ecossoise, le Chevalier de l'Orient & le vrai Rose-Croix, qui n'ont jamais été imprimés; précédés des trois Elus & suivis du Noachite.'' Aside from the revelations of this publication, the rituals were kept secret and were not printed until 1801: ''Le Régulateur des chevaliers Maçons ou les quatre ordres supérieurs suivant le régime du Grand Orient'', republished in 1820.
