Venetia, Barezzi, 1643. in-4, (4) ff. 647 pp. wormholes in upper margin without loss of text, contemporary limp vellum, new endpapers. PIANTANIDA 3756. ''Rara edizione originale.'' Barezzi, an Italian printer and scholar born in Cremona, lived in the first half of the seventeenth century. He practiced his profession in Venice, where he also made a name for himself through his erudition. His encyclopedic dictionary is not short of references to the New World, in particular Brazil and Christopher Columbus. There is also mention of the East Indies and the Far East.
