Russian wooden wedding chest, lartchik, with hinged lid, entirely covered with silk and adorned with embossed brass appliques with interlacing motifs enhanced by a few cabochons and a medallion depicting a gallant scene in the Makovsky taste. The lid is topped by a hexagonal frieze featuring a two-headed eagle. Interior lined with blue silk. Stamp on reverse. Original padlock. Russian work, cira 1900. 28.5 x 29 x 20 cm.
