Second edition. Paris, Guillaume Desprez, 1670, in-12, (40) ff, 358 pp. erroneously numbered 334 pp, (10) ff, blue marble, triple gilt thread on the boards, spine with ornamented nerves, int. dent. and gilt edges (Thibaron - Joly).
TCH V, 71. Second edition of the Pensées where the mistakes of the first one have been corrected. It exists with a state without mention of edition, but on the insistence of Arnauld in a letter addressed to Desprez (March 23, 1670) the mention ''second edition'' was added to cut short an insertion of Fr. Beurrier desired by the Archbishop of Paris (V. Lafuma, Hist. des Pensées de Pascal, p. 40). Ex-libris of Joseph Renard.
