[MANUSCRIT] - LANCEREAUX, Etienne & LACKERBAUER, Pierre - At - Lot 273
[MANUSCRIT] - LANCEREAUX, Etienne & LACKERBAUER, Pierre - Atlas of pathological anatomy (Paris, c. 1863-1869). Infolio, (63) pp. with hundreds of drawings in black or in color, half green cloth, spine muted, some epidermis.
Preparatory work for the edition published by Masson in 1871. The atlas had 60 chromolithographed plates, each grouping about seven to ten subjects. They were made from drawings by Pierre Lackerbauer (1823-1872), a scientific draughtsman and collaborator of Pasteur among others. Some of the drawings are signed and sometimes with indications of their origin (La Salpêtrière, Hôtel-Dieu, Hôpital Saint Antoine, etc.) which do not appear in the printed atlas, nor do the dates between 1863 and 1869. Lancereaux (1829-1910) was a student of Claude Bernard, a physician at the Hôpital de la Pitié, and a professor at the Faculty of Medicine in Paris, who left important works on diabetes.
