After studying architecture and a military career, the cabinetmaker returned to Paris in 1815 and worked in his father's workshop before taking over its management. He quickly developed the business and became a patented supplier to the Crown during the Restoration, then obtained the title of cabinetmaker to the Duke of Orleans. He received important orders from the Garde-Meuble Royal and participated in the furnishing of the castles and palaces of Saint-Cloud and the Tuileries. At the same time, he presented his creations at the 1823 and 1844 Exhibitions of French Industrial Products. Today, some of his furniture and seats are kept at the Musée de l'Armée in Les Invalides, at the Mobilier national in Paris, at the Musée national du Château de Versailles and at the Grand Trianon.
