PASTEUR Louis [Dole, 1822 - Villeneuve-l'Étang, 1895], Frenc - Lot 116
PASTEUR Louis [Dole, 1822 - Villeneuve-l'Étang, 1895], French chemist and biologist.
Set of 2 autographed business cards addressed to Mr. Maucuer.
- January 1, 1888: "Thank you a thousand times, dear Mr. Maucuer, for your good letter. Receive all our wishes of happiness for you, for Mrs. Maucuer and your son. Here we are doing well, if I may say so myself. But at my age, one should only think of others. L. Pastor "
- Thank you, thank you, my dear Maucuer. I am very sensitive to your good memory. L.P."
We enclose two autograph cards signed by Doctor RED:
- to Mrs. Maucuer. January 2, 1899: "You are a thousand times kind to send me the collection of chromos of Aiguebelle accompanied by a box of excellent chocolate. I was amused by the way Pasteur's discoveries are staged. I am very grateful to you for having thought of me "...
- to Mr. Maucuer. March 26, 1906: "I read with interest your experiments on the disinfection of objects by dry methanol vapours, at high temperatures and on penetration. The results are as complete as can be desired, and the speed with which you obtain them is remarkable. In the last two years, a large number of devices have been proposed to make formic aldehyde vapours act hot on the objects to be disinfected. Small ovens have been proposed for hairdressers, in particular for the rapid disinfection of combs and brushes in formaldehyde vapours. ...] What strikes me is the extraordinary rapidity of the action".
