STC 10961. First ed. published in 1534. Sir Anthony Fitzherbert (1470- 1538) was a learned judge and an authority on legal matters in England. His Nouvelle Natura Brevium is one of the most important treatises on the rules of common law in the 16th century. It is based on both case law and statutes passed by Parliaments. It remained one of the classic works of English law until the end of the 18th century.
