Meijer likens our painting to several late works by David Cornelisz de Heem, a member of a great family of still-life painters. - Le bouquet de fleurs, canvas, 52 x 44.5 cm - at Jack Kilgore in 2000 - Le bouquet de fleurs, canvas, 111 x 84 cm - at Nystad, The Hague in 1960 This work probably dates from after 1691, when Cornelis, his father, returned to Antwerp, where he died in 1695.
