Flat-back armchair in molded and carved beech decorated with friezes of piasters, ribbons and interlacing; the top of the back with foliage and seeds; scrolled doucine armrests; rosette dice; fluted sheath legs. Stamped by Bauve. Louis XVI period (minor wear; restoration). Possible reinforcements under the full upholstery. H. 93.5 - W. 64 - D. 65 cm Mathieu BAUVE received the title of master carpenter in 1754. Related work: An identical armchair is part of the national furniture collection and is displayed in the Grand cabinet de travail de Marc-Antoine Thierry de Ville-d'Avray at the Hôtel de La Marine (see photograph).
