Height: 40 cm - Terrace: 10 x 14 cm History: Our sculpture is the model for the sculpture at Charles Péguy elementary school in Kremlin-Bicêtre. Henri Marius PETIT (1913 - 2009), a pupil of Paul Niclauss, began his career in the 1930s in a purely Art Deco style; his sculpture Maternité, won a silver medal at the 1934 Salon des Artistes Français, before being purchased by the city of Metz, and and subsequently won several competitions for monumental works, the most important of which is the one for the League of Nations in New York in 1938-1939 (see no. 287).
