PÉNICAUD workshop, Limoges third quarter of the 16th century The Virgin and Child Enamel plate painted in grisaille on copper. A veiled and nimbed mid-body Virgin, surmounting a cartouche of Marian prayer, holds the blessing Child on her right arm. The counter-glaze in amber fondant reveals two punches with a crowned P. In an antique frame of carved, painted, gilded and embellished wood. H. 12 cm - W. 7.5 cm Provenance : Collection of Monsieur and Madame A., in their Hôtel particulier near the Champs-Élysées ; By descent to the current owner.
