QUEFFÉLEC Henri [Brest, 1910 - Paris, 1992], French novelist - Lot 146
QUEFFÉLEC Henri [Brest, 1910 - Paris, 1992], French novelist. Set of 13 signed autograph letters addressed to Auguste DUPOUY, close friend of QUEFFELEC. Dated from 1949 to 1961. Quefféllec often complains to his dear friend about having too much work to answer his mail and having to stay in Paris. "As a Breton, - I was born in Brest, - and as a former teacher, I take the liberty of sending you a small collection of verses that I have just published, and that I would be happy if it pleased you, in spite of many weaknesses. I have no doubt that you will discover in it more than appearances, the race." "Dear sir and friend ,These last two months I have led a rather tense existence, not particularly unpleasant, but tiring and fast, and my poor mail has gone to pieces. [...] I am trying to tell myself that I may have been a victim of my Breton origin-punctuality does not seem to me to be one of our cardinal virtues..."
