JOYEUSE Henriette-Catherine, duchess of [Paris, 1585 - id., 1656], daughter of Marshal Henri de Joyeuse. de Joyeuse, she married Henri de Bourbon duc de Montpensier, then in 1611 Charles de Lorraine duke of Guise, to whom she carried the duchy of Joyeuse. She was the mother-in-law of Gaston of Orleans, brother of Louis XIII and the grandmother of the "Grande Mademoiselle". Signed as Duchess of Guise. Paris, April 19, 1611; 6 pages in-folio. Clauses and conditions of the lease contract between Henriette-Catherine de Joyeuse and Gabriel Bien, merchant apothecary of silver on creuse; affirming to him for 6 years, from 1612 to 1618, the revenues of the Seignererie d'argenton (sur creuse), affirming to him for 6 years from 1612 to 1618, the revenues of the Seigniory of Argenton, for the rent of 1800 l.T. annually. With charges of conclude the farms of the seigneury, of that of Bouvilly, to cover the expenses of justice, to officers, the bailiff, his lieutenant, the janitor of the prison, the prosecutor, to carry out the payments due to certain convents, to maintain the common ovens and to hold the accounts and to give an account at the end of its exercise.
