Jean-Jacques FEUCHERE was part of the 19th century romanticism movement, drawing on biblical iconography with his representation of Satan, the plaster of which he unveiled at the 1834 Salon and the bronze at the Salon the following year. He let appear the figure of a fallen angel which will inspire Rodin for The Thinker or Carpeaux in Ugolin.
