PASTEUR Louis [Dole, 1822 - Villeneuve-l'Étang, 1895], French chemist and biologist. Set of correspondences: Autograph card signed, addressed to veterinarian and microbiologist Nocard. Paris, December 3; 1 page in-32 oblong. "A dog is bitten by a rabid dog or a dog very suspicious of rabies; is the owner of the dog obliged to shoot it entitled to damages from the owner of the biting dog. A thousand regards and a thousand apologies for my many, many disturbances; but nobility obliges. L. Pasteur." Autograph letter signed. Paris, December 17, 1887; 1 page in-8°. "Madame Mony, widow of Intendant Mony, was the owner of a tobacco shop which she had obtained because of the services rendered by her husband, who died following the Tunisian expedition []. Mrs. Mony leaves an unmarried daughter without any fortune. A request has just been addressed to the administration of Finances in order to transport on the head of Miss Renee Mony the office of which her mother was holder and whose net product was about 900 francs ". Autograph letter signed to the painter Henner. February 26, 1878; 1 page in-16, split at fold. "I have the flu as one does not. tomorrow will not be enough to give me a presentable face on Thursday, and on Friday I am going to the Board of Sanitation. Would you like Saturday [] unless otherwise advised, I will be at your house at that time and day. We did not have the pleasure of visiting you last Wednesday. You did well to nurse your illness. Men of your talent should never be ill. We will talk about our pretty nymphs []. But what an idea to place this masterpiece in a dining room?" Attached is a carte de visite from Dr. Olavide with a handwritten notation on the back, "phthisis [tuberculosis] microbes drawn by Pasteur in the presence of Edison, during our visit in July 1889. A large photograph (18.5 x 26.2 cm) of the period, pasted on a cardboard support, representing Pasteur, Calmette, Martin, Roux, Nocart, Pottevin and his collaborators is attached.
