JAUNEAUD Jean-Henri [Angers, 1892 - Quimper,... - Lot 33 - Oger - Blanchet
JAUNEAUD Jean-Henri [Angers, 1892 - Quimper, 1976], French general. Autograph manuscript signed, with numerous corrections. Titled at the beginning of the manuscript: "Affaire Pétain-Hitler". Poissy, June 28, 1947; 375 pages in-4° on graph paper; we have collated the manuscript: 375 pages numbered in pencil and ink; the manuscript begins on a page numbered 2 in ink (1 in pencil). The manuscript is bound in a black cloth spine binding (very worn), boards worn and corners dulled. This manuscript was written during his detention at the Poissy prison. Manuscript concerning the Pétain-Hitler affair. "The present testimony concerns the activity of Marshal Pétain during the period 1933-1945. It consists of three parts: 1°/ the first one exposes the interesting facts of this activity corresponding to the period of my life during which I had no suspicion concerning a possible military treason of Marshal Pétain towards France. 2°/ the second one relates the facts of the same order, posterior to June 28, 1940, date on which I started to have the intuition of this military treason. 3°/ the third indicates the general characters of the military treason of Pétain." The manuscript relates the historical facts, his activity, that of Vuillemin, of Pétain, and ends (page 373) in the year 1947: "It is then that a new coup de théâtre occurs, the most sensational of all those of the Vuillemin Affair: General Alamichel is arrested (March 1947), and accused of having belonged to the German spy service I learn of the collaboration that existed between de Gaulle and Alamichel from 1942 to 1946." In his conclusion: "As Mr. President Paul Reynaud said, Marshal Pétain is in the course of all our history, the man who has done the most harm to France. [For lack of knowledge of all the details of Pétain's military treason, the French accuse the non-culpable: France and the Republic, which were betrayed; the Army, which was sold and delivered to the enemy! [It is essential to make known the Truth concerning the Trial of Riom and the Trial of Pétain by revealing to all French people the existence of the Vuillemin Affair, an aerial aspect of the Pétain-Hitler Affair. Condemned in 1945 by the High Court of Justice of the Seine, released in 1951 and rehabilitated in 1954, General Jauneaud has always lived this conviction as a judicial error. The book "J'accuse le Maréchal Pétain" was published in 1949 by Pygmalion, then in 1977 after his death, with a preface by Henri Guillemin who said at the beginning: "This is an important book, a considerable testimony".
