[MANUSCRIT ALSATICA] - MARTIN, Paul - Letters to Ernest Lutt. In-4, half red wedge bag. Set of 218 letters addressed by Paul Martin to Ernest Lutt from 1942 to 1965. They are almost all embellished with coloured drawings by Paul Martin. Ex-dono of Paul Martin to Doctor Alfred Birckel and his wife Annette née Lutt. Paul Martin (1901- 1984) was curator of the Historical Museum of Strasbourg, military historian, painter and draftsman. Ernest Lutt was a pharmacist in Colmar. His daughter Annette married Alfred Birckel (1898-1993), a hero of the Resistance and a great bibliophile. Enclosed in the shirt are some typed letters from Ernest Lutt to Paul Martin from 1942 to 1945.
