DUREL, John
Sermon pronounced in the French church, which has its ordinary exercises in the Savoye chapel, the first time that the service of God was celebrated there according to the liturgy of the Anglican Church. London, William Godbid, 1661. Pet. in-4, (4) ff, 54 pp., russet name, half-bottomed brown, smooth decorated back, red t.s. p.. Not in Goldsmith (French Books 1601-1700 in the Library of the British Museum), nor at the CCFR. For the use of French Huguenots who have taken refuge in England and who have joined the Anglican Church. The Chapel of the Savoy was an Anglican place of worship in the Westminster district, founded by Charles II for French refugees, and the most important with Threadneedle Street rather devoted to the continental rite. Durel again published the liturgy for them according to the custom of the Anglican Church in 1665.
