THUILLIER Louis [Amiens, 1856 - Alexandrie, 1883], physicien et biologiste français du XIXe siècle, contemporain de Louis Pasteur.
He discovers the microbe responsible for red mullet disease in pigs. Signed autograph letter addressed to Mr. Maucuer. Paris, December 9, 1882; 1 page 1/2 in-8, stamped envelope enclosed. "You received a package containing a glass and a syringe. Please inoculate the 3 white pigs in the shed and the little white one from the baker's shop with one of the tubes I left you. You will inoculate 1/4 of the syringe into each of them. Please also let me know if you hear from them 3 or 4 days after this inoculation. If you could tell me about the four pigs we inoculated the morning we left, you would oblige me very much. They should not be inoculated again, at least not before seeing the effect on the 4 whites indicated above" . The brochure on Louis Thuiller (bound), published in Amiens at the Delattre-Lenoel printing house at the time of the biologist's death, is enclosed.
