MONT BLANC - ANGEVILLE Henriette d' [Semur-en-Auxois, 1794 - Lausanne, 1871], Franco-Swiss mountaineer. She's the second woman to climb Mont Blanc. Precious autograph manuscripts on his ascent of Mont Blanc in September 1838. This is the "first draft" part of his work. - Handwritten notebook "1st notebook / Division of the work into two parts - family manuscript". "The first one entitled: Excursions to the Savoy Alps in July and August 1838. The second: Ascent to Mont Blanc in 7bre 1838." Follows the plan of his manuscript. This manuscript is 224 pages in-4°, very abundantly corrected. - Handwritten notebook with the inscription "Ascension to Mont Blanc", abundantly corrected. 86 numbered pages. 23.5 x 18 cm, some browning. "Ascent to the summit of Mont Blanc on the 3rd, 4th and 5th of July 1838 by Miss Henriette d'Angeville." - Handwritten notebook with the inscription "Second Part Ascension", abundantly corrected. 84 numbered pages. 23.5 x 18 cm, some browning and moisture stains. "Ch. XII - Departure for the ascent". - Legendary "After the Ascent" folder, gathering several papers and a notebook related to the ascent. - Autograph manuscript (with a drawing). Dated "Chamonix, 3 August 1838"; 15 pages abundantly corrected. Manuscript in the form of a letter concerning his ascension. - "Miscellaneous corrections - 3/4 not adopted" 12-page meeting in-4°. - Meeting of about 17 pages, flipcharts, preparatory notes for writing the manuscript. Bottom losses on 4 sheets that have taken up moisture. Enclosed is a very beautiful dark green percaline album (wears), 31 x 40 cm, with on the first cover the initials "h A" in gold lettering surmounted by a crown, gathering handwritten pages (with autograph handwritten corrections) interspersed with watercolours and original drawings (some attributed to H. d'Angeville) and others probably to his entourage.
